Wedding Update

A few last week updates before the happy day. Wish us good luck with the weather!

Livestream

The Livestream of the wedding will be broadcast on Dillon’s Twitch account. The name of the account is Dillon_Burke. When the video is livestreaming you may be able to find it by searching for Dillon & Catherine’s Wedding Live stream, but to set everything up ahead of time, search for Dillon_Burke.

The Twitch logo looks like this

In order to view the Livestream, you have two options. One is to download the Twitch application and install it on the device you want to view the wedding on. The second is to go to the main twitch website (click the link or type out https://www.twitch.tv/ or do a search for Twitch in your search engine).

Search inside Twitch for Dillon_Burke (you must include the underscore). From there you should be able to click through to the livestream.

My channel should look a bit like this. Click on the Dillon_Burke by the right hand of the profile picture and that should get you into the menu options that include video.

The video feed should be live from:

  • Saturday 1445 29 Feb New Zealand Time
  • Saturday 1245 29 Feb Sydney Time
  • Saturday 0245 29 Feb Vienna/Munich Time
  • Saturday 0145 29 Feb London UK Time
  • Friday 2045 28 Feb Washington DC Time
  • Friday 1545 28 Feb San Francisco Time.

At the start, there will be a placeholder image. We plan to use the photo from the day we got engaged. It will change to a livestream just before the ceremony gets underway.

We plan to use this as the placeholder image before the live feed starts.

Song Lyrics

As part of the wedding ceremony, during the processional when the bride and groom are walking up in front of everyone, Brian McNamara and Paul Southey will be leading the music and singing for the song below. Catherine and Dillon hope everyone will join to the best of their ability. Copies of the lyrics will be supplied at the event.

Give Yourself to Love

By Kate Wolf

Kind friends all gathered ’round, there’s something I would say:
That what brings us together here has blessed us all today.
Love has made a circle that holds us all inside.
Where strangers are as family, loneliness can’t hide.

You must give yourself to love if love is what you’re after;
Open up your hearts to the tears and laughter
And give yourself to love, give yourself to love.

I’ve walked these mountains in the rain and learned to love the wind;
I’ve been up before the sunrise to watch the day begin.
I’ve always knew I’d find you, though I never did know how;
Like sunshine on a cloudy day stand before me now.

So give yourself to love if love is what you’re after;
Open up your hearts to the tears and laughter
And give yourself to love, give yourself to love.

Love is born in fire; it’s planted like a seed.
Love can’t give you everything, but it gives you what you need.
And love comes when you’re ready, love comes when you’re afraid;
It’ll be your greatest teacher, the best friend you have made.

So give yourself to love if love is what you’re after;
Open up your hearts to the tears and laughter
And give yourself to love, give yourself to love.

Give yourself to love if love is what you’re after;
Open up your hearts to the tears and laughter
And give yourself to love, give yourself to love

The Heart that Loveth Me

David Yardley has generously set original music and his voice to a recording of a medieval poem The Heart that Loveth Me. The Old English lyrics are below, if you click through to the poem link, there is a modern English translation and some notes about the poem. Catherine and Dillon are delighted to have this playing during the signing of the Registry document.

That hart my hart hath in suche grace
That of too hartes one hart make we;
That hart hath brought my hart in case
To loue that hart that lovyth me.

For one the lyke vnto that hart
Never was nor ys nor never shall be,
Nor never lyke cavse set this apart
To love that hart that lovyth me.

Whyche cause gyveth cause to me and myne
To serve that hart of suferente,
And styll to syng this later lyne:
To love that hart [that lovyth me.]

Whatever I say, whatever I syng,
Whatever I do, that hart shall se
That I shall serue with hart lovyng
That lovynge hart [that lovyth me.]

Thys knot thus knyt who shall vntwyne,
Syns we that knyt yt do agre
To lose nor slyp, but both enclyne
To love that hart [that lovyth me?]

Farwell, of hartes that hart most fyne,
Farwell, dere hart, hartly to the,
And kepe this hart of myne for thyne
As hart for hart for lovyng me.

Volunteers

We have had people volunteer to help with set up on the various days of the event. Here are the times when we will need help.

Friday – from 4pm to 8pm. The Wedding Rehearsal is at 4pm. Once that is finished (by 5pm), we will use a couple of hours of daylight to get tents up, before going to 75 Baylands Drive for pizza around 8pm.

Saturday – from 1pm. We need to move 80 chairs and a few tables.

Sunday Afternoon – from 3pm we need to clean up. Catherine has posted on the tournament Facebook page for help with this. Our time on the site finishes at 4pm.
